Hi Joey, i noticed your in Preston (lancashire) ?
Im in Lostockhall so not too far.

Nvidia 7900GS (256Mb) Also PCI-E
And a Nvidia 8800GTS (320Mb) PCI-E
I wish i had my own wheels of steel. I First got into mixing and music and way back in early 90's i made a few tunes mostly home brew stuff using octomed and layered multitracking.
Happy days ...but a change of lifestyle and interests meant that i forgot to get those wheels. Not to mention the loss of over 90 floppy disks with years of work & samples.
A few people i know from LFS i have shared some of my recent attempts to rekindle my passion for mixing.
I Started messing with things again over last year or so mostly with mixing no song writing yet. This thread reminds me of those days with eagerness just to make music, stress wasnt really an issue back then i think
Anyway here is a fairly recent sample using two golden tracks, with some heavy mixing from myself, all live of course.
I am pretty sure no one will know the songs used, but im guessing some may have a clue to the vocalist.
Adding to that, Can we also include the /facepalm also before the shaking ?
Current trends seem to indicate this is the most prefered expression of dissent exhibited recently.
Good post thought i would highlight that part, says it all for me about a percentage of peoples attitudes today. Maybe this economic downtown might have an influence on that. With this being said I am as fallable as the next and forget sometimes to stop and smell the roses, but i do try.
@ Scawen thanks for the update hopefully you and the family are close to getting a routine backup. I know from my own experiences within my family how difficult it can be with a new house kids and a home business. The ISP issue im glad you have resolved. Anyway with the mood i am in i could twitter on all day , btw, hope you like the roses.
Its true what they say, what a difference a day makes. (I hope)
No disrespect , but im sure LFS can survive and grow with or without CTRA.
I prefer the latter. I actually think a LFS without CTRA is more beneficial on the whole.
Maybe the community can really bond again now after the fragmentation caused by the dominating force that Is/Was CTRA.
Shadowww read a little closer, you will find that the card is an emulated 8800GTS (GX2 is basically 2x8800) I dont think regular GF8800 seris are capable afaik its limit is 16.
For your budget if your not looking for mind blowing overclocks i suggest taking a look at the Biostar TA790GX-A2+, AMD 790GX, (SAM2/AM2+, PCI-E 2.0 x16, DDR2 1066/533/667, SATA II, SATA RAID, ATX)
You should be able to pick that up somewhere between the 60-70£ mark.
Really things you need to keep an eye on is the PWM/Power of the mobo personally i wouldnt go for anything less then 4+1 Phase power.
Unlucky with testing the AGP stuff Eza, Can always try again perhaps
I decided to run the latest LFS Benchmark if anything its an Indicator that Single threaded perfomance is the key with LFS on my phenom. I only ran with the affinity masked to core 0, and ran 1FPS higher.
You can see the results here in the maxlist
I may (probably will at some point) try again and use BIOS to "uncore" the CPU this way the OS only sees the amount selected in BIOS.
